THE SERIES

An inward journey
in a room full of people

MOVE THROUGH is a series of immersive gatherings by Mothra for the things we’re already moving through in life.

Each night begins with a human theme and builds an entire experience around exploring what it brings up in you. The theme shapes everything, from the questions we open with to the music that carries us through.

There’s room for intensity and tenderness. For laughter, stillness and things you haven’t found words for yet. You can be surrounded by a group of people and still be having the most deeply intimate encounter within yourself.

You don’t need any experience with dance or meditation. There’s nothing to perform and no particular feeling you’re supposed to have. Arrive as you are and give yourself room to be fully yourself.

Come to feel what’s there.
And move through it.

THE JOURNEY

The Arc of the Night

Each journey is composed from beginning to end around one human theme. These elements weave together into a continuous experience, with each gathering taking its own shape.

Embodiment Exercise

Guided movement to arrive in your body, notice what you’re carrying and begin exploring the evening’s theme through sensation.

Cacao Ceremony

An opening ritual with cacao and reflection, bringing us together around a shared theme while making space for your own intention.

Guided Meditation

A guided meditation leads you through the night as you turn your attention inward and meet what’s present before letting it find expression through movement.

Ecstatic Dance & Live Instrumentation

An intentionally composed DJ journey by MR.JOYFUL woven with live instruments from guest musicians, responding to the music and the room.

Sound Bath

A gradual return to stillness. Rest as live sound fills the space, giving you time to settle and notice what remains.

Closing Circle

Come back together, reflect on what you’ve experienced and mark the end of the journey. Space to share, listen and carry something into everyday life.

OUR COMMUNITY

What stayed with them

Reflections from people who’ve shared the space.

"Mothra doesn’t just hold ecstatic dances. They use meditation, sound bath, music, and dance to weave a cocoon where profound healing is possible, and out of that, a community where you can be seen and held for who you are. Step inside. It’s unlike anything you’ve felt before."

"Ive been with Mothra since day one and they’ve always provided me with a safe and powerful container to meet and experience myself in all kinds of ways. The community that it has brought together is full of beautiful souls, inside and out. I can’t recommend their events enough and look forward to each one."

Mothra completely redefined what conscious movement means to me. The container they create is remarkably nurturing. Chantelle evokes powerful meditations, DJ Mr. Joyful creates diverse musical landscapes, and Katarina curates a space that makes everyone feel welcome. Together, Mothra have helped me meet, embrace, and integrate parts of myself I didn't know existed. These events have given me so much. I always leave feeling like my heart is overflowing with love. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts.

"Mothra has become a sacred place of becoming for me...a safe and nonjudgmental space where the unseen parts of myself have slowly begun to reveal themselves.Through the ceremonies and dances Mothra has curated, I have met my inner child and learned to love him with wonder, tenderness, and a deep sense of remembrance. It feels as though a hidden door has opened within me, inviting back something ancient, innocent, and deeply alive. The journey is still unfolding, and with each step I feel myself moving closer to a deeper truth of who I am. I am so very grateful for these beautiful humans in my life."

“Mothra is so much more than an ecstatic dance. It’s an intentionally curated journey of shadow work and self-discovery, paired with incredible music that somehow always takes you exactly where you need to go.”

"I came to my first Mothra ecstatic dance freshly on the other side of beating cancer, looking for community and a way back to myself. I walked in curious and excited. What happened surprised me. My body started moving in ways I had not allowed it to move in over a decade. I felt like I was releasing trauma and pain that had been residing in my body. Layer by layer with each song. I left the first dance awake in a way I hadn't been in so long. It left me hungry for more. Coming to these events has helped my relationship back into my body.”
